Jake’s practice focuses on a client-centered, ethical approach to vigorous advocacy and defense of his clients. Prior to joining the firm in 2019, Jake served his clients in a general practice firm in Erie, Kansas, where he accumulated significant experience in municipal and government law, criminal defense, municipal prosecution, quasi-municipal water law, renewable energy and utilities, real estate transactions, and estate planning. Jake also served as a Guardian ad Litem on multiple child in need of care and domestic cases.
While in law school, Jake served as Technical Editor and Notes Editor of the Washburn Law Journal and Editor of Family Law Quarterly. While serving as a staff member, the Journal published his Comment. Among other law school honors, Jake was named as one of National Jurist Magazine’s 2017 Top 25 Law Students in the Nation. He also earned Distinguished Pro Bono Honors and Dean’s Honors upon graduation.
Prior to law school, Jake earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. During his free time, Jake enjoys fly fishing, watching sports, and spending time with his wife and two children.
