About COLIN J. FINNEGAN

Colin is a passionate and driven lawyer who rigorously represents and defends his clients.  Colin has wanted to be a lawyer his entire life.  Originally from Morris, Illinois, Colin moved to the Kansas City area in 2017.

During law school, Colin worked at the Missouri Attorney General’s Office:  Civil Division in Kansas City, Missouri.  There, he learned the intricacies of civil litigation and the day-to-day process of advancing cases.  During his second year of law school he worked at the Disability Rights Center of Kansas where he strengthened his knowledge and understanding of litigating cases.  Colin clerked at our firm during his 2L summer and joined as a full-time lawyer in August of 2020.

While in law school, Colin took nearly every litigation course that KU offered so that he was adequately prepared to work in civil litigation.  Colin was a dedicated member of the KU Law Mock Trial Team and competed in several national competitions.  Colin also remained involved in the Student Bar Association and Student Ambassador Programs at KU Law.  He earned the Advocacy Certificate from KU Law upon graduation.

Colin was awarded with the James P. Mize Trial Advocacy Award for the KU Law Class of 2020, which is given to the single student who shows outstanding promise as a trial advocate.  Additionally, Colin won the CALI Excellence for the Future awards for Trial Advocacy and Advanced Litigation.
